About Dorset Timber Framing

At Dorset Timber Framing, our passion isn’t just in the craftsmanship – it’s in the exceptional service we provide for our customers. As a family-run business with over 25 years’ experience, we take immense pride in creating beautifully crafted, oak-framed buildings that bring our clients’ visions to life.

Dean founded the company with a deep knowledge of traditional oak framing, honed through years of carpentry and learning from many of the best in the trade. What began as a one-off opportunity to build an oak-framed home soon grew into a thriving business, built on word-of-mouth recommendations and a reputation for quality.

Today, Dorset Timber Framing is home to a skilled team of carpenters, designers and a trusted network of tradespeople. But what truly sets us apart is our commitment to our clients. We believe that every project should not only meet expectations but exceed them, becoming a cherished part of your home for years to come.

From our first conversation to the final details, we work closely with you, ensuring the process is seamless and the results are extraordinary. Our oak is responsibly sourced from Europe, and is of the finest grade, selected for its durability and timeless beauty.

For many of our private clients, the building process can feel overwhelming, which is why we offer full project management services, handling every detail so you can simply enjoy watching your vision take shape. We also work collaboratively with architects and builders to create stunning, structurally sound oak framed buildings across the south of England.

Craftsmanship is at the heart of everything we do, but our greatest reward is seeing the joy that our work brings to our clients. We love what we do, and we feel privileged to be part of creating spaces that will be lived in and loved for generations.

We invite you to explore our work and get in touch as we’d love to help bring your dream to life.

“

What we all want for the outcome of a building project is something that meets our every expectation and is on time, on budget and hassle free.

That is something that Dorset Timber Framing did for us and in Spades. We are now happy, very happy, owners of a set of stables for our donkeys and pony. The donkeys and pony are happy too!!

The finished building is one of great pleasure, it is more than we ever hoped for. It has also been a great privilege and pleasure to work with Dean as we watched our dream materialise. We will always be grateful – thank you.

“

Dorset Timber Framing did an absolutely magnificent job of creating a garden room on to the end of an existing old barn that was neither level or square in any direction! They were quick, efficient and very precise in all their work, and we have been the envy of all the ‘locals’, who have admired the quality of both the materials and workmanship.
