The Rummage Hut is named after the owner’s beloved dog, Rummage. Built in 2024, it was designed and built by our team for a beautiful, remote valley near Stourpaine in Dorset.
Built almost entirely from oak, the hut has a cedar shingle roof and a traditional brick and flint rear wall, so it settles quietly into the hillside as if it has always been there. Inside, York stone flagstones line the floor, and oak benches run around the walls with space for logs stacked beneath.
Hand carvings in the oak frame – the Rummage name and the year it was built – add a personal finishing touch. The result is the perfect stop-off on a long walk: somewhere to sit, shelter and take in the view.
