Our client asked us for a large, barn-style garage, so we designed the building, obtained planning permission and built it in 2025 near Tarrant Gunville in Dorset.
The four-bay oak frame sits on a red brick dwarf wall, with the front posts raised on Purbeck stone staddle stones and curved braces framing each electric garage door. Larch cladding, a clay plain tile roof and oak fascia and barge boards give it the look of a traditional Dorset barn.
Accoya side windows and a matching Accoya door are painted to match the garage doors, and brass light fittings on the oak posts add a smart finishing touch.
